Okay, thought it was an Edelbrock 1406 & was quickly corrected by the site experts who told me it was an Edelbrock 1906 Q-Jet. The issue I am having is the Ramcharger wont start if I dont let it warm up completely before shutting it off unless I stick a screwdriver in teh carburator butterfly no matter how long I let it sit. Now, I tried to adjust the electric choke & got it to move a bit without drilling out the rivits, but apparently not enough as I just had to go through the process of crawling up on the truck, removing the air cleaner & sticking the screwdriver in the butterfly once again to get it to start. Now, I did find out I can order a rebuild kit, but it's $60.00 and doesn't appear to have another electric choke. I call the Carburator pros in Denver, and they want $400.00 to rebuild it. I am now thinking it's just as easy & possibly just as cost effective to buy another out-of-the-box carb (guessing it will cost $400.00 or so). All the looking in the world has not produced another new 1906, and I also cant figure out what Edelbrock replaced that model with. Can anyone offer suggestions??
