Title: Noisy or Leaking Vent/Wing windows
Weak Link: The locking mechanism and seal
Models Affected: Any vehicle with vent/wing windows
What happens: The factory locking mechanism & seals on these windows wear out over time, and since the mechanisms are made from pot metal, once they wear out, they will require replacement. As they wear, they will no longer put enough compression on the window seals to seal correctly. And if it whistles, it also leaks water. You may be able to just replace the seal, but if the locking mechanism is worn, it will not seal for long.
Cheap Fix #1 (74-93 Trucks/Ramchargers/Traildusters): Find a newer model truck (84 up) that has the vent windows. On these, the ramps the locking lever seats against are taller, which will restore the compression if your mechanism is only slightly worn. Remove them from the donor truck, and install them on your truck, but be careful not to damage them during the removal/installation process.
Cheap Fix #2 (74-93 Trucks/Ramchargers/Traildusters): Find a newer or same model truck that has the same style vent windows and just replace the complete locking mechanism. Take care during the disassembly/reassembly process, as some parts inside the locking mechanisms are spring loaded, and must go together correctly to function.
Strong Fix (74-93 Ramchargers/Traildusters): Dodge dealers list a rebuild kit for these locking mechanisms, but they are pricey, and they are different for each side. They also reuse the pot metal lever & outside cover, so if yours are worn badly, this may not help. The replacement seals are no longer available from Dodge, but the aftermarket may carry them for your truck.

Some older model trucks (prior to 1980) may have vent windows with the locking mechanism on the bottom of the vent window glass, instead of the rear edge. These fixes will not work in that case.
