Hey fellas, this may be a dumb question, but I need to know where my fuel pump is. Some say it's in the tank, and some say it's on the block. 1988 RC base 5.2 318 Holley Carb. It turns over but never catches. It's a fuel delivery problem at this point. I even put gas in the carb. Told pops "don't put no more man!" well, it flamed up for 20 seconds or so. She's alright though. I'm not near my truck and it's been a while since I've been able to look at it. I'm just trying to get some info before I starting fuckin with her again. Any ideas, tips, or suggestions and question, don't be afraid to share and ask! Thanks fellas, let me know something please.

A 88 318, would be a throttle body fuel injection. With the fuel pump in the fuel tank. Yours could have been converted to carb, or you are mistaking the throttle body for a carb, a very common mistake. Post some pics and we can easily tell you more.

Thanks man, will do as soon as I can. That Holley has been on there since I bought her from my uncle. Before that it was my cousin's. Never considered it to be fuel injected.

agree with superburban but want to add: Pump is in tank AND EXTREMELY FRAGILE. Cut the hose when removing tank and replace pump when everyhting is easier to get and you can cut the hose off the nipple with a razor blade on the ground. Guys break off the nipples all the time and think they are still easy to get. They are next to impossible to get now. You fix it by replacing the pump within the module. and replace fuel filter at same time.
