Not to mention that wider offset rims put a lot of leverage on an already inferior front wheel bearing design in the full time 4WD trucks.

Alternatively you can swap the knuckles and everything outboard from a '80-'93 8 lug D44 and gain a more conventional hub setup that is a little more durable.  Still not strong enough for 46" tires on 14" wide rims, but should handle 35s or even 37s on a 10" wide rim with correct backspacing and street use without any major issues.  Offroad abuse would require a downgrade in tire size or an upgrade to a D60.

Doesn't matter, they are all the same hub and bearing setup and would be an upgrade over the full time 4WD bearing design.  '80-'93 knuckles, hubs, spindles, etc are basically the same and will swap.  If the truck is left full time the hubs can be locked all the time or CAD pucks can be installed to keep it engaged.

Thank you Elwenil, I'll definitely look into that. Do you happen to know what I should be looking for to correctly identity the 80-93 parts needed?
You are basically looking for an 8 lug D44 front axle in a '80-'93 Dodge 4WD full size truck. The parts you would need to obtain would be the steering knuckle, caliper bracket, caliper, hub and rotor assembly, spindle and the sub shaft end of the axle shaft. If it's an early axle you could fine either manual locking hubs on it or the old automatic hubs. If it's an '85-'93 CAD axle, it will have drive pucks in place of the locking hubs with a stainless cap on the hub. The CAD pucks are what you want, but they should be easy to pick up used if you locate an early axle. The point being that you will want the hubs to be constantly locked in your truck to keep the full time 4WD transfer case happy.
