Holley continues to drive the Gen. III Hemi swap industry with solutions even extending to Jeeps, Dakotas, and D-series trucks. Aside from the muscular stuff, the full roster now includes 1972-1993 D100 and D150 pickups, 1987-2004 Dakotas, 1987-1995 YJ Wranglers, and 1997-2006 TJ Wranglers. No other supplier comes close to making it so turn-key to swap in a late model motor and these three models are as ripe for repower as any.
As evidenced by the L’il Red Express, Dodge trucks were never far from their muscle car cousins and usually only lacked in underhood oomph. The simple, squared lines that ran through 1993 are classically clean. Unfortunately, too many were underwhelmed by a parade of sluggish Slant-6s and tired 318s. A hopped-up Hemi would the hot ticket here and Holley can make it happen.

Similarly, the Dakota never was given the proper amount of horsepower and heart aside from the slightly peppier R/T. A short wheelbase, light weight, and sporty look all lend themselves to a pinch of performance in the power department. Holley was able to transform a 1995 Sport model into a track terror with a few key components from Hooker BlackHeart and a 6.4 Hemi/TR6060 six-speed combination.
Jeep Wrangler owners are able to get in on the fun as well with bolt-in parts to make a 5.7, 6.1, or 6.4 fit like factory. Headers, engine brackets, transmission mounts, and exhaust all make it that much easier to supplant a steadfast but slow 4.0. Thanks to Holley, the junkyard crawling days are about to come to a close for those that have to have a Hemi.
