Ok well there are 4 fuesable links on the drive side fire wall of my sons 85 dodge. So it was not charging and the alternator was junk. Long story short one of the links burned out. It was a blue wire. Next to the orange there are 2 blue and two orange links.my engine builder told me to run a wire from the battery right to the alternator with a fuse and i did. Everything works nothing gets hot smoking what ever ok so i take it out and it runs like Dog shit. Like its running on 6 cylinders. What is the blue burt link for? I know i have a short but by running a wire to the alternator from the battery what am i by passing? why would it run like sh.t? i need some Help. Has a 360 in it thanks.
