I have been playing around with the idea for fixing some wiring harnesses, since this seems to be a real problem area. If you have any wiring harnesses that you don't need or that you may want fixed and can spare them for awhile, let me know. IM or Email. Above all dont throw out any old ones! I really need to figure out what terminals and wire I might need even though I have a sh*t load already. Let me know if you want to be part of the experiment. If I were to get enough assortment, maybe over time I could come up with a universal harness like say for the engine...thoughts any one?

Are you talking complete harness. Fuse block, charging, underdash, lights, gauges, everything? I've seen custom harnesses go from 200 to 500 bucks apiece. Could be a lucrative venture.

I'm just toying with the idea. Right now I would'nt just mind repairing some engine harnesses or lighting harnesses. The dash harnesses can be a real PITA. Like I said, to do this correctly I would need to make sure I could get the right terminals and as close as possible to the right color/grade wire.

this sounds like a great idea chump but you may find yourself a very busy man. i have a harness out of my 85 but i think it's too chewed up to even be repaired, i'm currently looking for a nicer one that is rebuildable. i also want to eliminate a few things from the harness like emmissions stuff, mostly everything that came in 85 with a 360 and didn't come on a 440 in 78. i also need a complete tail light harness for an 85 too, whoever had the truck before me ripped it all out and used phone cable to run the tail lights. if you do indeed come up with a engine and tail light setup for an 85 and feel like making it work for a 440 setup IM me with the cash you want for it and i'll send it to you.

I'm still here guys, i've just been a bit busy brushing up on my electronic component ID and surface mount soldering techniques. Have to take a couple of tests by the end of this week. I'll get back to this post as soon as I can get involved deeper.:):)
