Windshield locking strip - E-bay

Every so often you see an ad in E-bay for Chrome windshield locking strips...The ad says that they are "still in factory packaging". What they say is absolutely true, but the factory is in Spain!!
Again, this is not an outright lie, but most people assume that the factory is MOPAR. Buyer beware. The quality is NOT as good as Mopar.

Yeah, I know. I bought one. It is a knock off.
;D The other thing I noticed is that the locking strip is fairly inexpensive from the Dodge dealer, $9.06 from Dodgeparts.com. At that price, I would suggest none of us mess with knockoffs. The part # is 4057107, and I believe that covers at least 78-93 trucks, but ask the parts dude to check the correct number for your truck.
Yeah, the people on Ebay get in such a frenzy that they forget about reality!

4057107-Black.....www.dodgeparts.com $9.06
4467329-Chrome..www.dodgeparts.com $15.54
I found the windshield locking strip at the site that was posted. Can that same part be used for the rear tailgate window? There weren't any of those specific parts on the site.

Thanks! ;)
The rear window takes a smaller strip which is not made any more by dodge, they only offer a new gasket which is made without the strip and cost about $40.00. I have located a glass repair company in Jax FL that is suppose to have an aftermarket strip that will work, I plan to get it this week and try it. My truck had the chrome strip in it but I plan to go back with the black it seems to hold up better.
FYI...I did some checking and the rear window is the same in the 88-89 as is used on the 90-93. Also the weatherstrip(4168677) is the same part number for these years that has NO locking strip.
The weatherstrip(4168948) that I see for the 88-89 with a locking strip for some reason is not listed for the 90-93 in the info that I looked at.
But.....with the info that I do have, this means that the window glass and the weatherstrip are exactly the same size so I should think that the locking strip for the 88-89(4084911) might also work in the 90-93. I see that some of those are still available. Just might be a thought to ponder?:)

Chump, I have found that my local VABCH Dodge has found the rear locking strip in stock and is being shipped now! I have ordered it last week, prior to reading this posting. Also ordering those little locking ring clips for the front and the rear. Price for my lock ring is $46.00 and $6.00 each for the clips. I know its all pricey, that is what I have to deal with! I'll double check that part number when I get my locking strip in and see if more are avilb and for various years if you like.
