I have to have my 77 Powerwagon smogged. It is originally a 318 2bbl engine. I currently run a 4bbl manifold w/fuel injection. Even though my engine runs CLEANER with the fuel injection I can't pass the visual inspection. I have a 2bbl intake from a 1965 273 engine. Any drawbacks bolting this onto the 318 so I can temporarily run the stock 2bbl carb? If I recall correctly it's the same manifold dimensions for 273/318/340 but it's been so long I wanted to confirm this.

u should check ur local laws. i know in NC if u have done a mod that makes the vehilce run cleaner, then u are exempt.

Here in CA if what the smog tech sees doesn't match the diagram in the book then you don't pass the visual.

i know CAMO RAM is runnin propane, and thats not stock, but he still passes. like i said, check the laws.

1965 intake manifold wont have all the emission attachments that a new intake will have. Do they take your air cleaner off? A nice big stock air cleaner can hide a lot.

i think the 273 intake is different than the 318 if i remember right the only way is to use the heads and intake togther.
