with some headers and 2.5 duels on a stock 318 will i be loosing power over a smaller diameter duel setup?

I doub that you'll lose any appreciable amount of power. In fact, I believe you'll feel a distinct increase in poser, unless you already have a low restriction high flow system...

2, 2.25 or 2.5 would be fine,... as would a big single.
