As some of you know, my wife is a Sargeant in the Army National Guard. She got the call on Friday and shipped out today. She is still here in Arizona getting everything prepared until next Monday when they will be flying to San Antonio to await their orders. They are probably going to Kuwait, but there is also a chance that they could go to Korea or even stay here in the states. I just ask that you guys help me by including her in your thoughts and prayers. I am not very religious, but it can't hurt. I plan on going to church this week which will be the first time in almost 20 years. I also know that I am not the only one with family involved in this so while I am at church, I will ask for the safe return of all of our troops. This is something I should have been doing anyway, but didn't realize until this morning when I waved good bye to the love of my life. I hope that everybody else feels the same way I do. I don't care if you are against the war. I don't care if you think GW is a complete idiot. People can protest all they want, as long as next to that sign that says "Give Peace a Chance" they are holding one that says "Support Our Troops". They need to know who earned them the right to be there in the first place. I am proud of my wife for defending our country and doing her part in making the world a better place for the kids we haven't had yet.

You got it, glad to. If you will send me your wife's address in an IM or e-mail I will add her name to our prayer list at church. She will get a card from my church everytime someone from my church prays for her.

HOOOAH. Are you sure they are going to San Antonio? Most units go to FT Hood outside of Kileen before they ship out of Texas.

Hey AZ, we will be praying for you and your wife. Go to see a Pastor friend of mine named Al Price, he's the pastor of Shadow Mountain Baptist Church in Phoenix. He is a retired Air Force guy that is a very good friend of mine for the past several years. If anyone can understand what you are going through he is the man. The address is 22225 N. 27th Ave. the number is (623) 582-1889. Tell him that Kevin Williams from Lancaster, California sent you to see him...good luck and God bless you

She was told they were going to San Antonio, that's where Central Command is for her battalion I believe.

Thanks Mountain Goat, I appreciate it and will give him a call.

Chris, as soon as she gets settled, wherever that is, I will get you her mailing info. I am sure she would love to hear that..

Thanks for all the support.

Her MOS must be medical. Tell her that if she needs anything to contact some of us in the TX board. My wife and I are only about 3 hours from there.

Everyone busted out the flags for 9-11. Now bust them out for our troops!

Ours has been flying proudly at our home since September 11, 2001.

God bless all of our troops, and our families. May we find strength in the comfort of knowing these evil beings will no longer be able to torture innocent people, here or abroad.

I couldn't have said it better myself!! I really thank everybody for your thoughts and prayers, every little bit helps. I am also taking care of a lot of donations that I am sending to my wife's unit and to the red cross, so if anyone wants to donate anything but doesn't know how to go about it just let me know and I will come pick it up and take care of it. Thanks again everyone!!!

Those who serve their fellow man in any capacity are obeying the commandments given by Christ. They are the selfless ones.
And those who just sit by and do the hand-wringing thing are those who only TALK, but never DO. They are the selfish ones.
Got a little poem that describes service and sacrifice.

Look deep inside to where you live,
for a piece of yourself to give,
something true, something sincere,
something that proves that you are here.

Or hide yourself from all others,
let no man call you brother.
Do nothing, take not the risk,
and none will know that you exist.

Our thoughts and prayers are with your wife, the others that serve, and those who love support them.
