I've got a 90 R/C and I want to put a dual exhaust on it. The only one I found is the one on JCW. It says it for the truck, but I figure it would still fit. Does anyone know any place else that I can order a dual exhaust kit from?

Hey there Ellsworth, did you try going to a local independent muffler shop in town. I am not talking about Midas and the like. They charge an arm and a leg. I have found that usually the small independent exhaust places don’t charge all that much for a brand new exhaust and most of the time it only take a few hours. Many of the universal exhaust systems are not really universal. If you don’t know of any shops drive to a couple and get some quotes. Also if you know any AGE troops ask some of them. Traditionally a lot of those guys are 4 wheelers and hot rodders. I got a brand new single 3 inch exhaust from the manifold all the way back and a new Flowtech Afterburner muffler for about $170. I don’t have a catalytic converter. Everything is custom bent and fits perfectly, all in 2 hours. If you need to thaw out, you can come down to DM AFB, AZ and we can do some desert wheelin.

I built my exhaust system for my truck. Headers to a X pipe to the mufflers to the tips. It's not that hard. Call Summit. Tell them what you are trying to do. Price it and then if you think it's too much then don't order.

I have not called around yet. I just like to do things myself. I think I will give Summit a call and see if they can help.

I would love to go to DM, But I'm going to Minot. I don't know any AGE guys, but I'm a crew chief so I will ask around if I can remember too.

I got my headers/muffler/pipe kit for right around $200 from Summit, Jegs has the same thing. The pipes come off the headers and right by the transfer case without a problem. The kit exits in front of the wheel so you might want to check on the legality of that where you are. If you get the headers, the passenger side one goes in easy (nuts and bolts are a bitch to get onthough) and you'll have to loosen up the driver side motor mount and lift the engine a little to get the drivers side in. Check your mounts and if they look too worn, I'd replace them. Easy job overall, and well woth it.

Not sure if they still have the kit or not. If you don't want to undue the motor mounts you can also drop the oil pan.

The reason I had to loosen my mount was due to the space between the motor and the frame. It's a 3/4 nut and is very easy to do...Just make sure you tighten it back up sufficiently. I did get a new high torque starter also, so that's another $70 at auto zone.
