I know, I know this was been up on site before, but this me.I have what i belive is a Holley(that i know for sure) model 5200(?) 2 BRL.
360 79' Mopar engine, what would the best carb be? i want to stick with two brl, for gas sake.. it would be on and off road, must-lee on road to get to school and back.... i would like to keep the holley brand but open to new things,

Price $0 - $300.
please enclose model number (if you can, help with knowing the right one from hunders of them) :-\

Thanks,

i agree with jake on this, a 4 bbl due to having smaller primaries than a 2bbl will usually give you better mileage, as long as you stay out of the secondaries.

if you just have to stay with a 2bbl and are looking to stay with holly, i would reccomend their 500 cfm 2bbl. other than that most 2bbls are only going to flow about 350 cfm which just isnt really enough to realize the full potential of your truck

Great, if I go with the four bbl, I would need a new manifold. I was think of that and would get that truck avenger . that seem to be allot of work though. wonder what the loco garage/store would charge for that,

forget the local garage if you can. they would charge a couple of hundred dollars for it.

all it is, is 12 bolts and a few wire connections and a couple of hoses, can do it yourself in a couple of hours

The Truck Avenger is about $375. I'll ship my 670 Street Avenger to you for $275. But I will tell you that the Truck Avenger is better suited for heavy vehicles. Mine would do better in a small block car.

For 2 bbl's the stock carb for a 360 isn't bad. Easy to rebuild and fairly reliable. They use the same Jets as the 4 bbl holley's so they can be tuned somewhat.

I just bought and installed a 500cfm Holley 2 bbl, with the electric choke. The reason why I didn't rebuild the old Carter 2bbl that was on it, was because the throttle shaft was worn and a good rebuildable core is extremely hard to find around here. I have noticed a good increase in fuel economy and power. Here is a link.

I have an AFB that is rock solid. I have only overhauled it once in 7 years and am not planning on it any time soon. I did put a set of heavier metering springs in it that made it run even better. It only took a couple of minutes and I am not that carb proficient. They are easy to work on if you have to. I have had no problems with it at all, just keep it clean.

An Edelbrock Performer intake and carb are also a pretty decent way to go. Fairly inexpensive, and not too hard to get. Or get you an old cast iron intake off a 360 at a salvage yard. They flow pretty good, and you should be able to get one at a pretty fair price. Then all you'd hafta buy is a carb and throttle linkage. The performer carb #1406 is 600cfm w/electric choke. Decent fuel mileage, and you can tune 'em to perform.
