Swapped a different radiator into a 78 truck with a 360 and no a/c. Problem is I have no idea what dodge this radiator originally came out of. The guy at the parts counter couldn't find/match up a hose for it..... ::)

Edit
The radiator was in a 76 3/4 ton plow truck that I parted out but I don't think it was the original one. The hose that was on it fit perfect but it's not worth reusing....

a friend of mine has a 75 440 d-300 that has a pass side hose . I just gave him a rad from a 80-360 and he had the rad shop change the hose connection to the pass side so it would be the same as the one he removed . don't know if it was the original rad or not,but it was in bad shape so it might have been

Could be or as I recall most of the rads from that period of time that were considered "Extra Cooling" had the hose on the passenger side. Do you have any part numbers on the rad?
The hose I use is a NAPA# 7634

Item#: NBH7634

Price: $ 15.99
Attributes: Hose - Radiator Upper
I.D.(s): 1.56'' x 1.56'' x 1.56''
Length: 22.5''
Equipped with Steel Coil: Yes

All the 440's had the pass. side upper. The 400's and 383's used the driverside like the small block, unless someone used the 400 or 383 waterpump housing.

Not all 440/400 had the passenger side hose...depended on the application.
4086796 is listed for 1978 W-A/C
A,D,W
and
D,W4...with or without A/C

A=SUV
D=Conventional Cab(4x2)
W=Conventional Cab(4x4)

The reason being in the early years was the RV2 A/C compressor did not allow for driver's side hose and when you ordered A/C you automatically get increased cooling and passenger side hose. Things were a little more straight forward as the years went on...but not much. :):)

Edit..had the descriptions backwards...must be Alzheimers!
