well when i get off camber in my truck i get this poping/clunk sound in the front end that sounds like its coming from the drivers side
well ive bought new ball joints and they will be in soon but i dont think that is the problem even though they are getting bad
i think its the joints on the arm that conects the pitman arm to the wheel (steering knuckle ?) but those ball joint looking peices are bad for sure and i think my source to my noise

so what is that peice called its not under drag link or pitman arm at the parts store and i dont think its a tierod end or is it ?
well i need to get this fixed ASAP so any info will be a help

thanks

Well if it's in off camber, probably you have really really really bad joints and the knuckle has a lot of movement, you have a cross bar for tie rod ends and a drag link for the steering from the steering box to the knuckle that's it a total of 4 joints 2 tie rods and the drag link

In Autozones parts system what ED3 calls the center bar is called the drag link, in others it may be called a center link. The best thing to do is go to your favorite store and ask to see a diagram. Any reputable parts store will have them and if the counter person is any good he'll grab it for you. Then point out what you need and you should be set.

Jack your truck up from the axle and put a bar under the tire and go up and down with the bar like your trying to lift it and have someone or yourself watch the knuckle at the joints and see what's going on, i think that is where your noise is coming from

#8 would be called a tie rod end. :)

Drag Link is $53.99 at Autozone online and they are offering free shipping, on some parts, on orders over $100
