I just upgraded my ignition system - orange box, 8 mm wires, Blaster coil, cap and rotor.

While I was changing the coil, I found something that looked like a capacitor with a pronged connection bolted onto the manifold under the mounting bracket and connected to the positive terminal.
Not sure what it is and the Haynes manual and MSD instructions don’t mention anything about it.
Should I reconnect it to the coil or is it unnecessary with the new coil?

It is a capacitor that is put there to help eliminate radio noise from the ignition. My FSM only talks about it in the radio section, so I don't know if Haynes would be the same or not.
I replaced my entire ignition system and removed the capacitor and have had no problems with radio noise.
