First I want to say that I just think this site kicks a$$ {cool} I just bought my first R/C about a week ago and am already in love{blush} any way what I don't understand is that my vin says that my motor is a "5.2 V8 EFI 89-93"

I have a 1988 RC LE150 4X4 . so is it a 318? and if so why dont it just say so? kinda confused ??? on this topic. hell I am kinda confused ??? about alot of things. I'll be posting more later but this will do for now thanx. :p

well, do you have a carb? If you do, then you have a 360, if not, then you have a 318/5.2L, since they started to switch to EFI in 88 on the 318s, the 360s were one year behind, went EFI in 89. ;)

Welcome to the site!!
Thanx for the info. Yeah I have a carb so I have a 360. Cool I have a 72 plymouth satillite sebring plus with a 360 and a 727 trans. It is my pride and joy. so this is cool to have another set of the same motor and trany. kinda makes life easier. any way thanx again!!

correct me if I am wrong, but isn't a 5.2 L still a 318 if it has fuel injection or not? wouldn't the 5.9 L be a 360??
You are absolutely correct...so what was the question? Can't really find the confusing part in the thread ???

I only said, that in 88 they switched the 318 from carb to EFI, so if he finds a carb under his hood of his 88 RC, he most likely has a 360, since that bigger engine turned EFI one year later, in 89.
