Hey, welcome to the site!

Labor on machine work is pretty variable, so the best way to get an estimate for your area, is to call several shops and ask. You need to decide in advance whether you want fancy, three angle seat cuts, Perfect Circle or plain rubber seals, new valves and/or new springs (new springs is a good idea whether you get new valves or not), lightweight retainers, etc. etc.

You also have to decide whether you are going to pull the heads and take them the machine shop, or let somebody else do it all for you...

like he said it is going to vary, but to give you an estimate.

if i pull the heads and take them to the shop and just have a plain jane valve and seat regrind done it would cost me about $100 per side.

after that the sky is the limit.

fortunately i got in good with my little brothers auto mech teacher and if i ever need to redo some heads he said just bring them out to the school and he will let me use the tools ;D ;D
