I bought a recently rebuilt engine. The engine has no more than 1000 miles on it but I have a set of stainless valves hanging around and thought about throwing them in heads with out going to machine shop what do you think I know I can do a compresion check afterwards to make sure valves are sealing but what do you think am I wasting my time?

yes....unless the valves are the exact same size, and have the exact same angles on them for the valve seats, and are the exact same length, you will just cause problems. Not to mention you will have to take the top of the engine off to swap them...and on a freshly rebuilt engine ???

Why ???
