I know, it may be a bit early, but the sunny weather today has me thinking spring.

But what should we do? I'm thinking about May as a rough time frame. What do you guys think? Suggestions?

Our Meet-n-greet BBQ last fall fun, cold, but fun. I hope we can get something fun this spring going. Check out the Utah Chapter member list post, we've got a pretty good sized chapter going on, so lets do something!

We could do a BQ at 5mile pass. Or just a meet and greet BQ. I would be more than willing to host one at Sandridge Park In Roy UT on a sunday.

I guess this post comes down to 4 choices.

1. An "in-town" meet-n-greet
2. A "out of town", but easy to access, meet-n-greet
3. A 4-wheeling day trip
4. An overnight 4-wheeling trip.

I figure options 3 and 4 would require more planning, and even May might be a bit early for everyone to make those sort of plans. Besides, I figure the first meet of the year should be an easy, causual thing. I like both of Sarge's suggestions/offers. What does everyone else want to do?

1 and 2 would be easier, 3 and 4 would be more fun, but I can't think of anything close to make a day or overnight trip out of that isn't muddy or snowy, and as you know "mudding is for sissy's".

That is true however, even in May, most of the local trails will be muddy. But with the amount of snow we don't have right now, who knows.

I'm game for all four options. This early in the season, 1 & 2 are probably more feasible, but for later (May, June), 3 & 4 have got to be done!

In spring or fall, we should do a multiday trip, like The Hole in the Rock road, the Burr trail, or the Notom road. I think these are all easy, (I have not done them). There are others we could try also. And maybe one day, if you're all man enough, we could do the Maze/Dollhouse in Canyonlands, if you guys can handle it!

Do you know if it is the Hole in the Rock trail north of the Colorado River, or the one on south? The one from the north is accessed through Escalante, and is mostly easy, from what I hear. I heard the one from the south is quite difficult. If its the one from the south, get his opinion about its difficulty.

The reason for the "man enough" reference, isn't because of the terrain, although it is pretty tough, its moslty the fact that it is so far from anything, and you have to commit to several days. We have always done a week, so lots of food, gas and water. Oh yeah, they make you bring a Port-a-Potty.

Well, the interest is still strong for a local get together, we need to do something. Sarge, I think your suggestion sounds like the best one so far. Still want to do it?

hey guys enough talk already lets do it.I'v never wheeled any trails bot those in N. Ogden around the pass and I think that is illegal .So I'm open to anything ,any time ,anywhere . I'v been havin cooling problems with my 79 R/C but i'll fix that in a jiff . then i'm all for whatever--bbq-beer-wheelin whatever. Mabey a meet & greet to get to know one another, and discuss where to go from there lets keep in touch and do the damn thing .I look forward to meetin ya'll Keep In Touch
