Hey all,

I've got a way cool idea for a Utah chapter meet and greet. BYU is hosting the SAE sponsored "MINI BAJA WEST" competition this year in Provo UT on May 8-10. Saturday the 10th is when the real fun begins. This will consist of a four hour endurance race over what should be a brutally rough race course designed to break the cars that these competing engineering students have spent countless hours designing and building themselves. This race is almost as fun to watch as it is to compete in. There will be crashes, wrecks, blown engines, rollovers, I'm getting pumped just writing about it! I got to be a course judge last year (when USU in Logan sponsored the event) and I'm telling you, this is going to be a ton of fun!! Schools competing from all over the country will be there, even some from over seas (we had a school last year from Beirut Lebanon. True story!) Let's get a group together and pack a picnic lunch, lawn chairs and plenty of rolls of film and go. What do you all say? ;D

Check out this year host school's web page:

There's never been any price for admission in years past, so I don't believe this year will be any different. The web site did specify parking in a limited are with a free shuttle service to the course (gravel pit). We'll want to get there early since the race usually starts between 8 and 10 AM. {cool}

Hey, according to the website, I can't wear short shorts or drink tea? Damn!
Anyway, is it the 10:00 am to 2:00 pm thing on Sat. that you are talking about?
I didn't realize it was this weekend, I'll need to consult the boss.
What about averybody else?

Yep, that's the one. {cool} Let me know if you're planning on going. Looks like we're the only two going right now unless Trenton decides to go (only if it doesn't rain. ;D )

Still not 100% sure yet. I'm debating it because of everything ELSE I should be doing this weekend and the weather isn't helping. I'll post here for sure tomorrow morning (I hope that's not too late).

The mud/rain sure made things interesting! Thanks for the invite Guy, it was fun.
What happened to Trenton? Did he disappear or was he avoiding us?

OK, you got me, I was hiding. ;D Actually I just never saw you guys. I was standing on the pile of asphalt (no mud) near the start line for the first half of the race. Then I moved down near the west pits for the last half. We figured out that thats where my bro was stationed.
