I want to take my new 85 rc down to moab this year so i had my brother go get a 4"lift put on it.so he did well know i can not get it to pass utah safety insp.because they double stacked the blocks.no they did not put a new one on top of the stock one. the lift has two new seperate 2"blocks huh.so i have contacted tuff all day lets see i have been laughed at and told to purchase there 5"solid block that it should have came with right?well i am very dissapointed and know i am going back to skyjacker so i am selling a brand new tuff lift never broke in.very unhappy whith the customer service.its not about the extra 100.00dollars it is how they have done nothing to make it right.so beware of the 4"lift.mind you i live in california now.

Well you should be ordering the system (rear springs) anyways, just putting in a 5" block is not going to give you 4" of lift if you remove your factory block. And we all know stacking blocks is a bad idea.

We got a 6" tuff country lift in and it is awsome, but of coarse we ordered the full system, not the cheaper block version either.

the problem with stacked blocks even with a pavement pounder is the axle wrap on the stock springs. I too have stacked blocks before in my past, but I learned real quick it is better to get springs :)

I also like skyjacker, my 6" skyjacker front springs flex like mad on my trail truck.

I take it this was not the 4" leaf springs all around lift. If it was could you let me know. I am looking into buying the Tuff Country 4" kit with 4 leaf springs. Thanks

BUYERS BEWARE! You may not always get what you pay for! I bought the Tuff Country 6" lift from SuspensionConnection.com, and have had nothing but grief and missery since then. For starters, pieces were missing when I first received the kit. I called up Suspension Connection, and they told me I had to call up Tuff Country INC. in order to get what I needed. OK.....so I called them up, and they had a parcel shipped immedeatly. Talk about service! Next Problem, when I swapped out the rear springs, the rear U-bolts were too short. I had to put it back together without the blocks. Another call to Customer service had new ones on the way. So now the rear suspension is complete, and onto the front. Next problem, the front shocks are fully extended when the vehicle is placed level. Another call to Customer Service had new front shocks out to me. OK, so both ends are done now, time to move to the driveline. Next problem....the drop down brackets don't line up. GREAT! Please Keep in mind, I'm a single guy, I have limited time/tools, and space to keep working on this thing (just about every other day at this point, whenever I get off work). I ended up fabricating NEW drop down brackets out of some steel stock with the help of an off road shop out of San Diego. I emailed the gentleman who wrote the "HOW TO" on this kit, and he said he had problems as well. Those drop down brackets in his pictures were CUSTOM MADE, not the ones out of the box. His actually look better than mine with the angled edges I might add (wish I woulda thought of that ;D) On another Note, I have NEVER seen a better Customer Service department IN MY LIFE!!! They've been extremely helpful, even if they didn't have the resources to help me finish. Good on you guys at customer service!!! I just wish you had a better product to sell. If ANYONE has any questions or comments, please email me at [email protected] I hope this has helped anyone, if even only to inform them.

I have sent Tuff country measurement on correct tcase drop down brakets, so they should have correct sizes now.

But really, you don't need to drop down your tcase with a 6" lift anyways. And the only issue in the How to where the tcase drop brackets, which are only a piece of square tubing with holes in it. Very easy to make yourself, that is why his were made, faster to make them then send them back and get new ones.

Yeah, the same thing happened to me with my RC... I got an 85 and me & my BF were putting if on and we ran into the problem with the blocks, the stock block is bigger than the one they gave us!!! It really pissed us off... I was all excited about it getting lifted and now I had to wait to get other parts to fix her.the thing is we stacked the blocks just to see how it would look when its done, and the rear is still 2 in shorter than the front. I think Rough country needs to pay better attention! They know that this will happen, when we called customer service they told us to "Just stack the blocks" Yeah, ok, NO! But I was really disapointed with it!

The only reall problem I had was the Tcase drop, everythign else was tits and worked well. The bolts were a diffrent size in the back springs but overall I am stoked with the kit. No complaints here. I had mor eproblems with my Rough Country lift.
