I have a 84 Dodge with a 318 in it. First off the truck won’t hold a charge even after I replaced the alter or and it has a 2 yr old battery in it. Second of all the truck with start fine when jumped, run for about a minute or two and then slowly die as if it is not getting enough fuel. No clue what is the problem thanks for any help

after it has run and dies , turn key OFF remove air filter lid , pump gas pedal while looking down into carb , if you do not see gasoline squirting , you have a lack of fuel problem . start with the simple stuff 1 is there enough gas in the tank ? then move on to broken/rotted fuel line/s  bad fuel pump , clogged fuel filter ...

if its NOT holding a charge its the battery losing its juice as to why it dies , try running it with the jumper cables hooked up
