On the radiator which line is the input and which is the output for the tranny cooler. On my old Newport I thought the drivers side was the input, is this truck the same.

I am putting in an aftermarket cooler, and want to put it in before the radiator cooler.

YOu may have to follow the line coming from the tranny. The port closest to the pump is the pressure or output side.

theoretically, you want the hottest trans fluid to be in contact with the hottest coolant, so they cool down together....

So in theory, the fittign on the drivers side should be in inlet to the radiator from the trans.

My 87' has the inlet on the pass. side. I started it up and put it in gear and with both lines unhooked and that's the one that pumped ATF out. Good way to flush out the lines, but just for a second.
