I have a 86 w150 that I just rebuilt the motor in. This is my first 4 wheel drive. With all the motor work behind me I am now moving on. I have been reading a few of the post about transfer cases and now I am confused to heck. I dont even know what kind I have. I must apologize if I sound stupid . What is a divorced t-case Do you have to pay alimony to it? What aboout married? My near future plans are putting dana 60s under it and upgrading t-case if need to be.What would be the best set-up ? Is the diffrent setups for diffreent uses? Thanks and sorry again.

You have a np208 t case. It has a 2.6 low range gear ration and for the most part its a good case to have accept for the aluminum casing. A divorced t case is not bolted to the trans. There is a small short driveshaft going from the trans to the transfer case.
