I have lots of experence with mopar non lockup and OD's but dont know much about the dark years of the 3spd lockup .
I am unsure weather my tranny is a 727, 999 or what?
I am gettting ready to order a shift kit and they dont list a year specific one for an 88 RC but they do affer one for an 88 727.

I really hate to sound this retarded about my own Mopar as long as I have been into Mopars , thx for your help.

Unless its a /6 then you've got a 727. The 999's and the 904's they offered are significantly smaller than the 727. And much lighter duty. I've only ever seen them in 1/2 ton 2wd's with /6's but I could be wrong.

If you have a 4x4 then its a 727. Trans go makes a kit that covers all chrysler trannys. As far as lock up it could be either way.

Thx folks!
I just find it hard to beleive that B&M makes a Transpack kit ( more expensive ) for it but doesnt show anything in the Shift Imrover kits for it, if it is just a 727? Sucks because I have had great results from their Shift Improver kits and there cheaper.

My early 1988 Dodge 1/2 ton (2 wheel drive) came with a 318/A999 combo. The transmission just went lately. I've heard nothing good about lockup tranmissions, so I'm replacing it with a 904. Mid-1988 models came with a different cross-member, and I believe started to come with A518 as an option as well.
