Depends what motor you have. Could have either. Any tags under the hood? You can tell by the shape of the tranny pan as to what's in there. Maybe someone can post pics of the two different pans

What type of Automatic transmission does a 2 wheel drive 1984 Dodge Ramcharger have is it a 727 or a 904 or what?

I have a 318 ci. no tags under the hoods and thanks for the link It will help I will go check as soon as it stops raining.
727, unless someone swapeed it out.
