would a trany from an 86 4x4 Ram pick up w/ a 318 bolt up to an 97 4x4 Ram pick up w/ 318???

To the engine? Yes. Mounts? Probably. Computer? Not. The '97 PCM will probably generate some fault codes. Best way around it is to swap in a computer for a stick-shift if it came with an automatic.
