does anyone have one, and if so, does it work/ how well?

Just my .02¢ but Ill include it anyway.

I can see the theory behind these, causing the air to swirl. In a perfect world, the air would keep its turbulance up all the way to the cylinder. The fuel would most likely be able to stay atomized (sp?) better.

But, in the not so perfect world, we have butterflies in our carbs and throttle bodies. Even at WOT, with the butterflies completely open, the small wall (butterfly) is going to disrupt airflow. Think of any other throttle position. The air might spin up to the carb/TB but after that its going to do what it wants.

Ohh, the perfect world. No rust, impeccable factory paint, 500 hp and 45 mpg. :D

Agreed, don't buy it. Gotta hand it to those guys. Very clever using water to show it off. Everyone can relate to water, right? What people don't take into consideration is the difference in physical properties (especially density) of air and water. Air is pretty compliant as it is. Make a nice path with gentle curves and no obstructions, and you're already there.

For $10 it would be worth trying. $60 is robbery.

Yea they don't do anything. But heres an idea that might work if you're looking for airflow. Try installing a small electrical fan into the air intake ducting. Esentially its the same idea as a blower on a greater scalled down version. I have no idea how practical or if it would even work. Just shooting an idea out of my ass...

Actually it would work great if you could get it to spin fast enough to make a difference....

I actually did this with a Traxxas TMaxx (which is like a 1/10 scale nitrous powered RC truck)....I made the air duct a little longer and fit a computer processor fan into the duct, then mounted a battery pack with about 14 volts....It made a huge difference on that little truck...I had to richen it waaaaay up or it would've blown up.

Then get a fan out of a furnace squirrel cage fan and mount it in the bed of truck or RC. run your duct work and there you have it. forced air!
