i was looking on the NTW (national tire warehouse) website and i looked at the tire fitting chart that they have and it says a 285/75/16 would fit on an 88 rc with a 2" lift, which is what I have.isnt the 285 a 33in tire? does anybody use 16in wheels on their truck? i was gonna use my 31/1050/15s from my 79 rc, but rims are diff lug size 5x4.5 vs. 5x5.5 i want to use 16x8rims, to be different, but i may just go with 32/1150/15. i dont want to go any bigger.

the 285's are right in between a 32 and a 33. If you want to use a 16 inch rim then use it. For 285s, you shouldn't need a lift at all.

It depends on what manufacturer makes that 285 or how wide the wheel is, how much psi is in there. Those all make a difference. Not all 285s are 32.9'' tall. Some might barely be 32. My fiancees brother had a set of 285's put on his 01 ram, they were not even 2 inches taller than my 31s , which at the time actually measured to be about 29.8''. My 35's that I just bought mounted on 15x10's at 25 psi measure 34.2''
