What is the "stock" tire size for the 1972 W200? I put stock in Quotations because I want today's sizing specs not 1972.

Also I'm running these oddball Israeli military tires that don't have a convertible spec to anything in the U.S. They are narrow 33 inch tires really and with those My "Speed demon truck" gets up to 55 mph on the highway. and I would like to keep the speed if I can.

Also I live up a dirt road at the top of a hill of ice and snow.

This is a 72 W200 crew cab with 318 435 205 No lift Tires rub on hard hard right like getting out of the driveway type turning. other than that they are fine.

in 16 inch rims I'd use 235/85r16  if it had 16.5 rims , I'd get newer rims in 16 . tall narrow w/snow/ice is your friend.

my current tires equate 9inch wide by 33 around on 16 inch rims if there is a equivalent to that I would like to keep the size as I would like to get to 50 on the highways around here.

As long as your truck came factory with 16 not 16.5 wheels, it probably had 7.50x16 8 Ply. As far as I know, they didn't start putting tire placards in door jambs until 1978, so it would be hard to know unless your Equipment Listing is still under the hood. But that 7.50-16 tire (by Coker Tire's dimensions) measures 32"tall and 8.7" wide. So you're pretty close really. If you had 8.00-16.5 factory, 28.6" tall and 7.9" wide. I agree, the more modern size to switch to would be 235/85R16. It will be 1/2" wider  and 1/4" shorter, but it is a readily available size, since it was common tire on duallies in the 90s.

Maybe check out the 255/85R16 size... is closer to 33x10". Fits ok on a 6" wide wheel.
