I am trying to clean up the wiring harness in my truck ( it's a bit of a rat's nest). I noticed that there is an electrical lead coming off the Thermostatic choke, ( I think that's the name) and it goes nowhere. I can't find where it is supposed to go. The guy that owned the truck before me hack up the harness something ferce. I want to fix this. So does the thermo choke need a full 12 volts or does it connect to something else. Thanks for any help.

the choke wire goes to a resistor mounted back near the coil. On the other side of that it went to the factory oil pressure sensor so it only got power when the engine had oil pressure. When I replaced the factory one with a AutoMeter gauge and sender, I had to jump a couple terminals on the harness to get power to the choke, and it now has power at key-on, even if the engine is not running.
