The Propane Truck

I haven't figured out a name for him yet. I'm taking suggestions. I was thinking maybe 'Wheezer' or "Puff' or something.

He's a '77 Utiline, 318, converted to run on propane. Has a factory locker (according to the hood sticker) in the 8 1/4, 727 trans. Power brakes, but manual steering (?). Factory AC.

He runs good. The trans needs work, no reverse. My plan is to put a A999 lockup trans in him and use him to commute to work. Probably a coat of paint and hose out the interior and he's a show truck.

I especially like the rear bumper. It's actually made for a Utiline.

I got him from CAMO_RAM (Nate) for one hundred US dollars. Thanks Nate!!

I see alot of potential in your hands there.

I hope for Nate's sake those wheels and tires werent included for that C note.

What kinda mileage you gonna get?
No, I had those wheels and tires already. They cost considerably more than the truck did.

I really don't know about the mileage. I'm hoping that propane gives reasonably good mpg, and the lockup should help.

My parents had a 318-powered Le Baron with the same tranny, that got a solid 20 MPG on the freeway. If I could get 15-16 mpg I'd be happy.

The fuel will let me run in the HOV lane, which is a huge deal to me. I plan to remove everything not needed on the truck (gas tank, fuel pump, etc) and keep it as light as possible. It will be just a light-duty commuter.

The Duster is down but not out. The rear gear went out. I'm in the process of building up a new one for it. It will drive again.
Dang GP your starting to get a pretty good collection going there. The new addition looks like a good one. Is this to replace the white thing in the background. ;D

Sweet! I am glad it went to a good home GP> keep me posted on it.
