The caravan of people marching to our southern border is  growing.  Latest estimates suggest that 7000 to 10000 could be at the border in a month or so. I don't see any way this can end well.
The marchers have been informed that they will not be allowed in,  they don't care.  The military has been informed that they will likely have to enforce our laws. Residents of border states are certainly going to protect themselves. No two ways about it,  there will be violence.

At best this is going to jam up border crossings even legitimate ones for business and commerce. At worst this could become another protracted military operation.

But I do see a bright side,  if it can be called that. American citizens will take up arms and protect the country by themselves. Perhaps then the liberals might understand why borders are important to the population of this country.  Perhaps then the liberals will understand that we are tired of taking in illegals and allowing them to get on the government doles while our own citizens are struggling.

Realistically the infrastructure can't handle such a surge of immigrants. There's really nowhere to put them.  Active military operations would be political suicide and potentially lead to war with Mexico,  at the very least extremely strained relations. Regular citizens defending themselves and their sovereignty is the best way to handle this.

Many average Americans are tired of being called names like racist or protectionist.  That's what the left wants us to believe about ourselves.  Perhaps its time to make their wishes come true.

Understand that this was never intended to end well…. This is a political stunt perpetrated by the Demi-rats. It was planned in advance, organized, financed (probably by Soros) and timed to coincide with the mid term elections.

The marchers have been informed that they will not be allowed in, they don't care. The military has been informed that they will likely have to enforce our laws. Residents of border states are certainly going to protect themselves. No two ways about it, there will be violence.
Thats the assumption, but I don't believe thats going to happen. Of course if that did happen, it would be a wet dream come true for the liberal media which would happily pin it on Trump and then use it to leverage him out of the oval office. Right now that same media is trying to convince us that this wave of "democrat voters" will just walk in and theres nothing we can do to stop them. Thats just not true. Most of these people aren't going to have that kind of resolve. What the media doesn't tell you is, they want to sneak in and blend in with the crowd. They don't want to be captured, even if they are released later. Just yesterday, another news crew covering the Rio Grande captured on video an attempted illegal border crossing, but the moment the illegals realized that they were spotted and saw the cameras, they turned around and paddled back to Mexico. They aren't going to challenge our military if they are deployed to the border. And I don't believe shots will be fired. In fact we already have troops on the border and they've been there for years. They are called Border Patrol and they don't just shoot for no reason. If the military is dispatched, they will simply bolster the Border Patrol, much as National Guard troops are called in to bolster local law enforcement during times of emergencies.

At best this is going to jam up border crossings even legitimate ones for business and commerce. At worst this could become another protracted military operation.
Commerce is a two way street. Yes, it will suck for Americans doing business with Mexico, but it will suck a lot more for the Mexicans who were warned not to let them thru. If it took a protracted military operation to secure our southern border, then so be it. We cannot afford to do otherwise. But the wall would help a lot. If it were me, wherever the wall hasn't been built, I'd dig a trench, fill it with oil, kerosene, diesel and light it just before the illegals arrive. They can have a Mexican Burning Man if they want, but they have to bring their own cerveza!

I have no issue with any American wanting to take up arms to defend themselves. If an illegal trespasses and threatens them, they have every right to defend their land and their lives, but I don't condone a massacre.

And Liberals will never understand why borders are important, despite that only a few years ago they supported defending the borders. Illegals have become a new source of voters for their party. Imagine the advantage they'd have if they could eliminate the borders and allow millions to enter, so long as they all vote for the Democrats. They would never lose power and then they could mold the country any way they want. It's also using the Cloward and Piven tactic. Overwhelm the system, blame the opposition for it's failure, then ride in on the white horse with the solution to "fix" the problems (which they caused) Volia! We become socialists!!

The only real way you can teach a Liberal is if they experience the consequences of their own bad ideas first hand. So I propose this; Most of these stupid elitist tend to live in gated communities with big fences around their homes and lots of security. I say people should protest them to take down their walls and remove their security. Let people enter their property, like they argue for illegals to enter our country. Let them enter their homes, eat from their refrigerators, sleep in their beds, take money from their wallets. Then maybe they can see why borders are important.

Active military operations would be political suicide and potentially lead to war with Mexico, at the very least extremely strained relations. Regular citizens defending themselves and their sovereignty is the best way to handle this.
I don't believe it would be political suicide at all. The military would be supporting the Border Patrol which has been there for years, and BTW Mexico has their own Border Patrol agents just on the other side of the line…this isn't like the DMZ between North and South Korea. If anything Mexico needs us a lot more than we need them, so if relations are strained, they will only have themselves to blame.

Many average Americans are tired of being called names like racist or protectionist. That's what the left wants us to believe about ourselves. Perhaps its time to make their wishes come true.
Don't forget xenophobe….The Libs have nothing left to resort to, except to call us names and have their hissy fits. God willing it won't be long till they cease as a political party and their corrupt leadership and big money spenders are behind bars.

Ed, I'm not trying to condone violence either.  I just don't see this getting sorted out otherwise.  Yes small groups of illegals would turn and run from border patrol or witnesses.  But this isn't a small groups.  Its damn near an invading army.

I fear mob mentality will take over.

There isn't going to be violence, unless they commit to it. I believe president Trump's resolve is pretty strong and he won't back down. First thing he did was make some demands clear to Mexico and the other countries. Those demands are, if they allow those people to reach our border, he will stop all financial aid and he will shut down the border. As president, he has the authority to suspend all immigration. (this includes legal immigration too) If Mexico and the rest of those nations lose their money and the border is shut, it will impact all of them very negatively and they will suffer economically. So it behooves all of these countries to enforce their own immigration policies and laws, and it's in their best interest to cooperate with us for their own economic security.

Next, deploying our military to the border is intended to support the Border Patrol who would quickly become beleaguered facing such a large number of people on their own. The military doesn't have to fire a shot for this role but has the ability to defend itself if fired upon. Normally if an illegal immigrant steps foot on American soil, he is given due process and he may plead their case in front of a judge. However, the president could suspend all immigration and deport any individual entering the country legally or illegally and he may use the military to enforce that order. So it's not going to turn into a bloodbath. The Liberals would love it if that happened, so that they could splatter it all over the media, but the people attempting to enter may think otherwise and may not want to sacrifice their own lives over a political strategy that doesn't benefit them or even apply to them.

The bottom line is, the libs have vastly underestimated president Trump and his resolve. Those people won't enter our country. If they do, their nations will suffer financially and politically and the border will be closed to everyone. It's a lose/lose for them whichever way it's sliced and they may not want to attempt it again.

original post edit? I thought I read something different this morning.
Anyhow...yea, if there's thousands of people rushing towards the border it might not end well.

Flyfish,  yeah something happened earlier today,  a post appears to have been deleted.

Ed, seems you just agreed with my fear, it doesn't have to be the US military that fires a shot first.  There's certainly going to be some armed marchers.  It only takes one to get antsy or angry and let off a shot. Then what?  Hell it wouldn't even need to be a marcher, a well placed paid rioter would do the trick.

Like you I believe this is started and financed by someone else,  not sure who but the other day a lady being interviewed stated that she thought someone was paying for the March. Didn't name names though.  Probably dead by now...

Your remark about the media portrayal that this is normal and expected isn't going to fly in the southern states.  It doesn't fly in the north either.  Enough people in the border states have gotten used to the government telling them to suck it up.  They're not going to allow this.  You have the dynamite and the blasting caps in the same box...

I'm actually proud that Trump has threatened military action as well as economic sanctions.  I don't agree that this could possibly end up as anything near impeachment.  It's in defense of our borders. You'd have a hard time selling that to the general public no matter how liberal you are.

Re economic effects,  its going to affect both sides.  And it won't take long to affect the general population.  Yes it might affect Mexico worse than us but, both will suffer.  Who, honestly,  do you think is willing to deal with it more?

I agree Trump won't back down.  I also don't think the American citizens will have much of a problem.  Its the anti American establishment that will push this too far.

Assuming theres a marcher or several with a firearm and willing to use them, that still isn't tantamount to war or a major battle. It would be addressed not militarily but thru law enforcement. Don't fret, it would make no sense to attack or make an assault by force. It's dumb. It's like punching your dad in his face and then hoping you could still sleep in your bedroom and live your life normally.

I didn't say that or imply such…. The media portrayal will be anything to make president Trump look bad to the American people.

A reasonable person would conclude that this could end up as anything near impeachment,,,but who says Liberals are reasonable? As mentioned, if the media is trying to do anything or use any excuse to make Trump look bad, it's not a stretch to throw in impeachment.,,,but I wouldn't worry about it

Our country doesn't depend on Mexico…some American businesses might, and only to take advantage of cheaper labor, but we are the economic powerhouse and we didn't become one with the help of Mexico. Theres nothing Mexico has that we depend on. We have more oil reserves, more coal reserves, more natural gas. We are the bread basket of the world, we export more, we produce more, we have more and our economy is growing. Mexico doesn't have any of that, if anything Mexico needs us. Their economy sucks compared to ours and they still haven't figured out how to improve it. They have a lot more corruption, a lot more poverty, a lot more trouble. They depend on us to help them. They count on our business to survive. Do you think Americans have to immigrate to Mexico to find jobs and send money back home to their families? Nope! We have the advantage here. We can close the border with very little consequence to ourselves but for Mexico and the rest of central America, it's a disaster, economically, politically, etc.

Here is what the caravan did at the southern border of Mexico.

TECUN UMAN, Guatemala (AP) - Migrants traveling in a mass caravan burst through a Guatemalan border fence and streamed by the thousands toward Mexican territory on Friday, defying Mexican authorities' entreaties for an orderly crossing and U.S. President Donald Trump's threats of retaliation.

On the Mexican side of a border bridge, they were met by a phalanx of police with riot shields. About 50 managed to push their way through before officers unleashed pepper spray and the rest retreated.

The gates were closed again, and police used a loudspeaker to address the masses, saying, "We need you to stop the aggression."

Mexican federal police chief Manelich Castilla, speaking from the border town of Ciudad Hidalgo, told Foro TV that his forces achieved their main objective of preventing a violent breach by the 3,000-plus migrants. In a separate interview with Milenio television, he accused people not part of the caravan of attacking police with firecrackers and rocks.
It was on a bridge, so who are these bad hombres that were not part of the caravan, that had the rocks and firecrackers? How civilized do they think the caravan will be when they spend all this time walking, and hit a locked US border? No matter how hard both sides try, it will be a mob, and we all know how well mobs have behaved in past protests.

But no need to fear, CNN is walking with the caravan, playing pick out the middle eastern, and MS13 folks.

Oh yea, its just a coincidence that they are timed to hit the border right before the election.

Oh yea, don't forget to pass the word along, to ease the tensions this year, they have set up Tue Nov 6 as election day for the Republicans, and Wed Nov 7th for the Democrats. The democrats asked for the separate days, to help cut down on the violence. ;D

Interesting, the other day it was 4,000 from Guatemala, Honduras, and El-Salvador. Now, its 14,000 from Honduras, plus people from other countries. The extra 10,000 Hondurans were waiting in cities in Mexico, for the caravan to arrive, so they could join their fellow country men. ::)

The Mexican El Universal news outlet is reporting that more than 14,000 Hondurans - not counting people from other countries who are marching toward the United States - are leaving that Central American nation to seek asylum here.
Seems like much of the news anymore, is just a bunch of assholes pole vaulting over mouse turds. Even serious things are a joke.

crowds and military ?... may 4th 1970 ...tension sometimes has undesired results no ? all sorts of strange things happen in election years that many do not realize are connected to that .... but I read some do ....  ;)

An event like 5 4 70 is what I'm thinking might happen. And yes the media is playing its part by trying not to show any bad light on the marchers..
True our country doesn't depend on Mexico but lots of imports come to us from their sea ports. They build a fair amount of vehicles there too.

Super,  your sarcasm is a little thick there

When you watch the various media they show different trucks set up along the way distributing food and other necessities, who is paying for all this? My guess is soros and his backers, it would bankrupt the democraps.

These people are being used by someone and to say they are not highly organized is to be naive. A group of people any where from 7,000 to 14,000 plus cannot just move across several countries without prior planning. The logistics are just tooo great, each town or village they go through wouldn't have the resources to handle that many people at once.

It really is an invading Army without guns and especially in Mexico what border or Police official wants to clash with them, the media, Fake News is just waiting to pounce on any use of force.

Most of the people shown are mainly male but apparently the smaller group of women and children have been pushed to the front to get maximum exposure and effect if anything un-towards happens.

What about another group forming to follow on?

This will turn into a giant tent city at the border that will continue to fill with "refugees"....these poor refugees will then become a un matter.

I agree this is all too convenient especially as everyone knows that obuma & hiltery are out on the road so there was no threat to them.

How were the bombs constructed, early reports are that they were crude types and how were they to be detonated?

If a tent city is constructed at the border the Mexicans will have to deal with them, maybe they should contact george soros to help pay for their upkeep as he is possibly the one who financed all the food trucks etc. along the way.

I expect those details have already been hashed out...lots of bottles of water..pisses..need for food etc for a group of 10,000...this is no half ass march mate..this is costing thousands....it is a travelling biohazard simply because where do 10,00 people purge their waste....I do realize in meh hee co...you would most likely not notice piles of human excrement in the streets....but 10,000 third world grubs?...this is a slimey nasty trail they are leaving behind.
