The tailgate on my 93 dakota is really sloppy.When its closed it can still move back and forth a fair bit.Is there an adjustment to fix that or do I need to find new latches?With how much it moves I wouldn't dare strap anything to it,much less expect it to stay shut just daily driving.

remove the latches , clean them , make sure they latch vertical not at a 45' , then try the gate , look at the pins the gate latches TO they move IIRC to tighten up the gate .
