Hey RCC!

Ok, before I go and break something...

Can someone please guide me on how to remove the sockets from the tail light housing?

I have tried twisting and also prying with a bit of pressure, but they aren't moving. I really don't wanna mess then up. See pics below.

Thank you.

They are not removable, but the insides can be pushed out from the back, and replaced. They are called pigtails, and you get them by the bulb that goes in the socket.

I would like to re-paint the housings. But, can't really do that with them connected to the vehicle, via the wiring. So, just a good push on the pigtails from the inside will pop them out the back? Or is it the other way. Snip the wires and push them out through the front? Thank for the reply.

Look down underneath by the frame, there should be plugs.

That is the correct way.

Poke a cotton ball in them & paint away.
