Well I am being given a free car that is slightly newer with a tad more miles but is more economical on gas and with my bills to pay off, money is an issue, SSSOOOO….
For sale (IF THE PRICE IS RIGHT), 1990 Dodge Ramcharger LE 150…options = tilt, cruise, AC (not working when purchased, never felt the need to fix it), AM/FM cassette, no power windows/locks…4x4 (NP208?), Dana 44 CAD equipped front axle, Chrysler 9.25 inch rear axle (unknown ratio), A518 overdrive automatic…older ARE’s (could possibly shine with some elbow grease, steel wool and chrome polish I hear works good)…31x10.50-15 Goodyear Wrangler’s with good tread (I could see at least another 20 to 30 thousand miles out of them)…factory cassette deck, rear speakers replaced with Lightning Audio 225 watt 6x8’s, started replacing front speakers (passenger side speaker replaced with Lightning Audio 225 watt 6x9 mounted to interior panel, driver side was never replaced but have the speaker still in box)…current accessories installed by me include a pair of off road lights that will come with truck, Maxon Mini-Mobile CB that will come with (needs antenna, DMV didn’t like my antenna set up so I removed it), and a interior fishing rod holder that will not come with the car…CB and lights wired to fuse box…repairs made:
Work done:
-Battery hold down replaced when none was found to be in place (original was later found at the bottom of the front driver side fender)
-Wheels balanced
-Wheel locks replaced
-Front end alignment
-Fuel filter replaced August 2005 when tank had to be drained
-Borgeson double u-joint steering shaft installed by mechanic
-Tranny rebuilt with just under 2000 miles currently on it
-New rotors and pads
-New drums and shoes
-New upper and lower ball joints in the front
-Radiator replaced- O2 sensor, new hoses, thermostat, gasket, antifreeze and radiator cap done at that time
-Fresh oil filter (NAPA Gold-9/17/05), oil changed with Royal Purple Synthetic 10W-30 one year ago
-Two year old K&N air filter
-Last tune up done two years ago-cap, rotor, wires, plugs, fuel filter, PCV, temp sensor
-Body rot was patched with new panels riveted in to get the truck through inspection one year ago (additional body work that I know needs to be done: rust/crack over passenger side front tire, rear quarter panel behind passenger side tire has a small hole-truck will need a repaint if you want it to look good, especially on the roof (clear coat has bubbled and peeled on the hood and along the bottoms of door windows)…I had planned on removing the remaining side molding and spraying bedliner on the side panels from the molding down (originally I had planned on having the body work professionally done but when DMV forced me to fix it before they would pass it, that plan was thrown away)
-Exhaust was replaced from the cat back a year ago with walker piping and a Dynomax super turbo muffler
-Exterior mirrors replaced with a matched set off a late ‘80’s RC, will include extra hardware from originals
-Front shocks were replaced a year ago with Rancho RS5000’s to hopefully smooth out the ride, didn’t help
Work needed (that I know of!!):
-Aftermarket pop up sun roof installed by previous owner, needs a new latch package (problem is if you open the sunroof, and then go to close it, part of the latch becomes dislodged and the latch falls apart,
http://www.sunroofdoctor.com/sfcsunroof.htm $28.75 for a new latch piece)
-Truck is going to need a valve job, smokes at start up on occasion, otherwise the engine seems to run fine
-Driver side seat is missing arm rest, the screws attaching arm rest to mount on chair snapped, mount and arm rest are still there just need new screws
-Dash board lights-just recently the light do not come on unless the knob is turned almost all the way to the interior lights on position, could be as simple as corrosion, or the switch needs replacement
Other details:
-Passed NJ inspection December 23, 2004
-Interior is OK, headliner is sagging, trim pieces have typical breaks/cracks, small panel above light switch panel has a whole in it from a failed light switch mount (switch is there to cover hole), passenger side needs door lock knob, driver side lock is missing the shaft that comes from the mechanism up through the top of the door, no idea how that happened but it was missing when I bought it, passenger side seat release is working on the side lever, rear lever broke two years ago when it got jammed and I forced it
-Bumper mount trailer hitch not good for much (probably only a class one) but it is there with a four pin light hook up and will come with ball and mount
-Will come with whatever parts I have laying around that I saved from repairs
-Will come with complete owners manual pack that I ordered from Bishko and all receipts since I have owned the truck, will total several thousand in repair work
-Flamed iron cross front seat covers
-Purchased the car for 1795 (before tax, tag and title) from a Dodge dealer used car lot in NJ June 2003, current Kelley Blue Book in good condition is 2105
