Ok-how hard is it to rebuild the steering gear box? Or would it be easier to just buy a new one? I know the one I have is bad but would like some advice before I just buy one. I am going to put cross over and hydraulic assist on the truck. I have already ordered the stuff but should I buy or rebuild the box?
Thanks, Don

Guess I'll tell you the same thing everybody told me when I asked the same question - more trouble than it's worth to rebuild, especially if you've never done one - everything has to be done just right. I guess just putting in new seals isn't too hard, but if it's got a lot of miles, it may need more than just seals. I read the FSM procedure and got a head ache just from that ;D

Buy it, unless you want to sit there and put hundreds of tiny ball bearings in by hand, and if you lose one, you'regoing to have the same problems.
