Anyone here reinforce the frame around their steering box or make/buy a brace to do it? Because all the chevy and jeep people always do it to keep the frame from cracking, and I never really hear about dodge people doing it?
Yes. I found a brace on a D100 at a junk yard and installed it on the frame rail to shore up the place where the steering box is bolted on. It goes from the frame rail to the radiator support beam.
After ripping the gear box off the frame along with the factory reinforcment piece that you guys are talking about. I ended up boxing the frame with 1/4" plate steel. To avoid further problems I added hydro assist to take even more stress off of the frame.
