Speedometer cable

i just found my speedometer cable was in 2 pieces from resting on the exhaust. i took the cable to auto zone but the replacement they gave me has a different thred size then my old one. napa said they dont have ne thing like that either and i took it to the dealer and they said we dont got a book that far back but i might be able to get it if u have the part number
