EVERY ONEC IN A WHILE AFTER I'VE BEEN DRIVING
FOR ABOUT 20 30 MINS.AND STOP AT THE STORE ,BANK
IT WONT START. SOME TIMES IT WILL START AFTER 10 ,15
TRYS AND SOME TIMES I HAVE TO WAIT FOR ABOUT AN HOUR BEFORE IT WILL START AGAIN. SOME ONE TOLD ME
IT WAS THE STARTER AND SOME TOLD ME IT WAS THE RUN START RELAY.HOW CAN I TELL WHTA IT IS? WHERE IS THIS
RUN STAT RELAY? IT HAS BEEN GETTING WORSE ABOUT
IT LATELY .HELP IM GETTING TIRED OF WALKING BACK HOME. OH ITS A "88"RAMCHARGER 4+2 318 W/AUTO TRANS

During that time it won't start. See if it has a spark or not. Just make the end of your 20-30 min drive in your own driveway so you can check it out there.

Hi I may be a licenced mechanic but without seeing it it's a hard call but I have had this happen personally 2 times and my customers lots.Whith what you are describing the first weak part on that damn thing for intermintent running I would look into the ignition module you know...the one with that big ugly gold heat synk on it just a guess and a good starting point as it's easy to work with,always have a spare voltage regulator and ignition module in my tool box and it saved me from a long walk one cold day good luck Mike.

just a place to start.

I agree with firechicken, mine acted the exact same way when my module went bad. BUT!, doesn't an 88 318 have TBI? If so, you don't have the module of which we speak.
