Sorry! cheeto I had this paint scheme in my head & paint before I even found this site
Don't sweat it. Patrick (his copper/cream truck was in Sport Truck) probably thinks I stole the paint idea from him. Like you said, I've had the idea in my head for a long time.
Re: the 400/auto. How is it for towing? Engine stock? What rearend ratio? Have a recently rebuilt 400/auto available and been thinking of installing it this winter. You can IM or mail me if you want. Don't want to get off topic here.

When Bell-Tech first came out with dropped spindles for the Daks I asked if they would fit a full size. They said they would bolt on but the steering would be too reactive due to steering arm placement. In other words, a small correction at the steering wheel results in a big change of direction at the tires. Just a word of caution when test driving after installation. :-\

I've actually been considering a front frame section from a mid-70's boat like a New Yorker. The ride would be much nicer and I just happen to know where there is one real cheap. ;) Still need to do some measurements and stuff but it's an idea.

The "front mounted" torsion bars is why I was thinking later model Dodge car. My folks have a '77 or '78 New Yorker that is donating it's engine/trans to another project so it came to mind really fast. Haven't checked to see if the bars are front or lengthwise mounted on it though. Figured a big car like that would support the weight of a truck well. I have yet to ride in something with airbag suspension but truck suspensions (even lowered with good components) just weren't designed to ride good. :-\
