I was taking a look at the plans under the parts section, and I had a few hopefully easy questions.

The front hanger... no attaching bolt holes in the plans? Am I supposed to drill those myself when I've got it on there and lined up, or is it a mistake in the plans?

well.. other than that i guess i dont have any more questions...

what do you guys make em outta?

Got another one that i forgot.
The front set will give 4 inches of lift, and the back shackle flip will give 4. thats a level truck, but adding the rear front hanger adds another 2? did i read that right? how do you level it after that, body bushings?

Yeah, the holes are left out. When you cut your old stock hanger off line it up on top of the new hanger you are making and clamp it down. Use the holes on it as the guide for the new hangers.

Do the holes differ between years, or what? What about the other questions?

Thanks ramman,

What I did for the front is just take 4 pieces of flat (don't know dimensions or anything, my dad made them) and drilled 2 holes in each 4 inches apart and then just bolted one hole to the spring hanger and the other to the spring. I also had to put some washers on each side of the spring because the metal was on the outside of the hanger and there was a bigger gap between the spring and the "new hanger". Then I just welded the top of the metal to the old hanger. Then just made some longer shackles for the rear of the front springs. I'm going to post pics of it when I'm done.

if i am reading what you typed right derek, then oyu are adding a step that shouldnt be there

if you make the RCC shackle flip kit then you do not need the front hanger.

what most people do is use the rear front hanger and place it in the rear for the flip, wit hrcc plans it gets rid of this step

hope that cleared it up, if not give me a call and we will see if we cant help ya.

BTW, when ya plan on doing the flip? need some help? if so let me know and we will see if we cant clear up some time to come help ya out

Eric, I'm just going by what the plans say, if I'm not mistaken...
The plans say: "The front hanger and front shackle will net you 4" of lift. The rear shackle flip will get you 4" of lift, when using the rear spring front hanger it will gain you another 2", so 6" of lift with the shackle flip and rear spring front hanger used together."
If I read that correctly, that says that using all four pieces plans are supplied for, I will gain 4 in front, and 6 in back, right? My question then, is how you level out the truck if you use all four pieces?
Thanks,
Derek

When I get some shackles made up and have a planned time (Brian and I will more than likely both do it this summer) I'll call, email, or message you to let you know...

What you would have to do is then add another 2 inches to the stuff for the front. So just add 2 inches to the measurements for the shackle and another 2 inches to the length of material for the front hanger. So you would end up with a 6 inch lift.

Hmm. Maybe I'll just hold it at 4 for right now, at least until I can get some bigger rubber underneath (my 31's are new... might be a while)

hey derek,

if your rc is like most others, they tend to set lower in back than in front anyway, so 6 in back and 4 in front would probably make it level.

i know when i did mine the flip gave me four in back, and i only lifted it two inches in front and now she sets level.

I must have a rare occurance because mine didn't sit lower in the back before and I as I'm going through the shackle flip for the rear I'm starting to wonder if it will be higher in the back than the front.

Nope, mine sits level (actually a half inch difference). We'll see...

I had 4 inch suspension all around and my rear sat 2inches lower than the front, so I did a shackle flip and it sits about level now. I just added some longer shackles in the rear and for the first time in my truck's life the rear is higher than the front. I have 4 suspension in the front and like 7-8 in the rear
