I just drove on I-80 from Cheyenne to Little America Wyoming, about 300 miles which covers most of Wyoming and there wasn't any road construction on it. There was a couple of posted construction areas but no equipment or anything.

my parents just came from Bay City, MI to Omaha, NE, by taking this route:

I- 75 south to
I-69 west to
I-94 west to
I-80 west.

they said there were 2 very congested construction areas on I-80, one around Chigago, and the other in Indiana. they said they were almost completely stopped in a few cases. I'll get the exact areas and post them as soon as i can.
I-35 N from Ardmore, OK - Wichita, KS:

Road construction for appx 20+ miles just north of Ardmore. Two lanes, can be quite congested. Thursday afternoon we were only going 30-40mph. This could add another 15-20 mins on the drive time. There is a little construction going through the OKC area (Norman, Moore, OKC, Edmond), but nothing to worry about unless you are hauling a load wider than 10ft. You would have to take a detour a time or two then.

There are two other construction zones between OKC and Wichita, but they are minor. Maybe a mile or two. Again, as long as you aren't over 10ft wide you shouldn't have a problem.

Just to advise though, once you get on I-35 in KS, it is a toll road, but you only have to pay once, and that is when you get off. They give you a ticket where you get on, and where you get off, they take the ticket and charge you for however many miles you go. Be careful though. I found out that if you get to your exit point faster than you're supposed to (they have a time on the ticket) then they will charge you extra, for obviously speeding ;D

Is this something new they have started here? Cause I know back in October when I met mom in OKC I had the cruise set on about 83 from Topeka till the OK line. I know that when I quit driving OTR they were saying they were gonna start that up in Indiana, Ohio , and PA . don't know for sure if they are but something to keep in mind . cause tickets suck. As far as construction goes none I know of on 2 lanes heading that direction from the Omaha direction once you get into Kansas. Will be out to Manhattan next weekend for mud drags if I see anything will update. jOhn
They may have just told you the amount and you knew no different, but my friend drives this certain stretch of toll road quite frequently. Once, she got charged more than the usual amount, and she had to ask why, and that's what they told her.

They have not started doing that in PA yet. Just two weeks ago I covered 37 miles in about 23 minutes I payed the normal toll and got a receipt.

Damn...that's the way I was going to go. Oh well, long as the truck doesn't overheat, that's fine with me
according to my folks, I-80 westbound has construction in 2 spots..... just west of Chicago, and i believe they said just east of Des Moines, IA. beyond that, the run from MI should be smooth sailin'. be careful of the highway signs once in NE, they're kinda short-notice at times.

mike (from NE) - we still meeting up in Marysville?
