What does it take for the slightly above average mechanic to rebuild a dana 60 rear end ? We replaced the rear end with one from a junkyard but the one we got is bad also so we want to attempt to rebuild the one that was on the Van originally. We are talking about a 1998 dodge b3500 with a dana sixty rear, 3.9 gearing, 12x3 1/2 rear drums? The problem we suspect is the bearing that sits behind the pinion flange. is this a job that regular guys can handle. We have car and truck experience and decent tools.
