My son has 1970s RamCharger 4x4. It currently has a 401 engine in it. He is intrested in swaping it with a slant 6.He dosnt have a computer so if I dont word this right foegive my lack of knowlege. If anyone can give us any tech. advise we would much appreate it.He has not been able to find any tec. help.Dealing with such a swap, TNX

A 401? I haven't heard of that myself. Do you mean a 400? Why would you wanna downgrade to a slant 6?
my thoughts exactly. he needs to get a new set of motor mounts for the slant six. 2nd he needs to get another transmission in the /6 bellhousing pattern. if its an auto he needs a whole new trans. if its a manual he might be able to get away with a bell housing that will bolt on.
3rd after all those years with the Big Block in there hes gonna have to lift the rear or lower the front an be prepared for one stiff ride.
honestly if its fuel mileage or a blown engine go with a mild 318. still have to do the trans swap but the mounts an effort is easier to come across
