I'm a little puzzlez with my radio. I shut the truck off and the clock stayed lit up. I turned the radio on and it worked too! It never did this before. What could be the problem??

is it stock or aftermarket???? if its stock then you have a short in the stereo. if its aftermarket check the wireing just to make sure the memory and the switched power are not freyed so that they can touch... just a thought!

If aftermarket radio:

It should have two power wires. One is for constant power (yellow), one is for ignition switched power (red). Sounds like you have the red wire hooked up to constant power, or the red wire is shorting out to constant power.

Check the red lead in the radio harness. It may have melted through the plastic connector to the yellow constant power wire. If this is on the '84 or '92, you should be able to get at it without removing the dash facia. Just pull the ashtray and the ashtray mount (6 screws) and the harness & connector should be right above it.
