Here's a question and I will give the win to anybody within 10 grams either side of actual. One TRW forged 12.5 : 1 piston with rings for a 383 .060 over, on a stock B rod with a floating pin, with the rod bearing (2 halves) in place. How much in grams does it weigh? I know the answer. By the way 1000 grams is 2.2 lbs.

im going to make a disgusting, misguided guess with knowledge off the top of my head couple with 24 minutes of research....

Rod weight: 605 grams
Pistons: 476 grams
Pin and Locks: 152 grams
Set of 3 rings: 15 grams (I'll suppose we aren't using gapless)
Rod Bearings: 45 grams

Final answer: 1293 grams dead weight

Additionally, seeing as my guess is VERY wrong, I'd like to add 2 grams of oil to the entire mix. 1295 to make it a round number. Let me know how far off I was...

Lol all i know is TRW is the most awful heaviest forged piston out there, you gotta let me guess a few times i haven't dealt with a piston over 540 grams in a long time, most pistons i deal with are 480 to 540

Aw, its only 4 pm but I had better give the answer. 1952 grams. Thats like over 4.25 lbs. Amazing. Lot of weight to be swinging around. Times 8 at about 100 strokes per second at 6000 rpm. Stand back, its multi barreled missle silo.
