I think it is pretty much a bolt in swap. However your driveline universal joints may be different.

You bolt pattern would be different too. 79 is 5-4.5 where a 85 4x4 would be 5-5.5.

He is putting in a 3/4 ton axle, so I would think it would have the 8 lug pattern.
The truck is 3/4 ton 8 lug brand new tires and a snow plow i just have to go get it paid 400.00 for it
That's a pretty good deal. Wish I would come across one.
I put 80 3/4 ton axles in my 79 RC with no problems
