Oh and first off it is mounted on a dodge truck, but anyway when i put a load on my winch(warn 8274) and start retrieving and then stop, the winch will let the line slip back out, i think the brake is shot ?? has anybody had this same problem and if so anyone have one for sale or no were to get oneTHanks for any help

You should be able to get the parts from a Warn dealer. Kinda hard to tell you where to look without your information filled out in your profile.

Is the lever on the side pushed all the way in? Also, the little clicking lever, is that always returning back to prevent it from slipping back out? Maybe the spring is bad that puts tension on that lever (I don't think it is really a spiral spring, but same function).

Does anyone know how to lock the brake paw "open" so one person can free spool the winch? I couldn't figure out how to do it on mine, so somebody had to hold the paw "open" when I needed to free spool.
